Fishers Boats Pty Ltd and Fisher Manufacturing Pty Ltd is now in the hands of the Administrators.

They are KordaMentha here in Brisbane.

Korda have sent letters to folks that have ordered boats and paid deposits. This letter explains the situation and the schedule of fees they will be charging.

It appears that those that have paid a deposit will receive little return. This information was supplied to me by a deposit payer and a receiver of the above mentioned letter.

If any member has some facts they wish to add or up to the minute news, please post away.

No speculation.

I am hoping the managers, owners or administrators/ controllers will respond here. There are many Ausfish members that deserve to be advised of what is happening.

Edited:- I have contacted KordaMentha and await their response for a request to provide more details.

What about the 1/2 finished boats - do they lose as well?

Hell of horrible thing to lose deposits like that but always a huge risk when it isn't paid into a trust account. I would be very dirty especially if owners wages we all paid up with your deposit money or they took extra orders.

Sux for warranty on built boats as well - not good at all

Looks like it.
I know of one poor bugger who paid $16k+ for an outboard just before x-mas and it looks like it's gone.

Please do not turn this thread into a cat fight.
Those who are concerned deserve some respect and consideration.

Trading whilst insolvent is illegal. The directors are liable if they are found to have knowingly traded whilst insolvent. I suggest that all people have deposits down seek legal advice.

I thought the usual method of payment in this instance was to pay for a motor after it was fitted up and you are about to drive the rig home...

Never heard of paying for a motor that you have not yet seen before...poor b@stard :(...

Geez I feel sorry for everyone that has outlayed deposits or have half-finished boats ....>:(

Wonder if they feel a bit betrayed by Ausfish and those members who have been shoving that great bloke Col and Fisher Boats down our throats for soooo long...??::)::):(

My understanding is that the Company is in VOLUNTARY ADMINISTRATION, not liquidation.

See link below to explain the current status of the Company.

You're probably going to get slammed for that statement. Just know you're not the only one wondering the same thing.

OK, enough speculation.

I have edited the first post and replaced the word liquidators with Administrators.

I accept that I put that word there, but this was on the verbal advice of a deposit holder. I appologise for this.

This type of mis-information is what is not wanted or warranted.

I have been contacted by the Chairman / President of the Creditors Committee and I will post up FACTS by this afternoon.

To disorderly.... Ausfish did not shove fisher boats or Col down anyones throat, it's members may have. A member does not represent Ausfish. Your statement is not in keeping with the spirit of this topic. Please keep to the facts as this is an important matter for many people and really is not open for opinions...

I feel it is also important for a Fisher Boats or Fisher manufacturing representative to reply here.

Cheers phill

I think a lot of ausfish members have wanted someone from fisher boats to make comment for ages, mind you in the lead up to this, posting things on here was not prudent.

But a statement from them now, would be greatly appreciated by many........info from the horses mouth, not the horses...er rear end so to speak. (no speculation)

I have been in the situation of losing all my wages to liquidators, after their expenses I got 1 cent in the dollar.................... not good.

The posting made on AUSFISH stating that Fisher Boats is in liquidation is inaccurate and misleading.

On 2 February 2009 Fisher Boats was placed into voluntary administration by its Directors. There are significant legal and commercial differences between administration and liquidation. On 12 February 2009 the first meeting of creditors was held. At that meeting I was elected to a committee of creditors. The administrators are KordaMentha of 22 Market Street, Brisbane. Their phone number is 07 3225 4900.

Any person who is a creditor of Fisher Boats Pty Limited or Fisher Manufacturing Pty Limited should contact KordaMentha as soon as possible.
