uprate 8hp mercury 4stroke

just bought a 8hp 4 stoke 2005 model and have noticed that the 9.9hp has the same size engine block . i was wondering what the difference between them.

Chances are there's too much difference between them to make it an economically viable upgrade.

Check that the engine is set up right, height and prop and from there if still not satisfied, trade it
