First chance to get out for a fish today since the weather had been terrible of late........ With a fair storm hitting us during the night and going thru quick we left the harbour around 5.15 heading to some new ground i obtained last trip out to have a look at. The wind was averaging 10 to 11 knots from the NW with the forecast tipping it to be 15 to 20 NW/SW . After arriving at the new ground we decided to anchor on a good show with a heap of small reds one after another coming on board........... Then the first keeper a nice pan sized Small Mouth nannagi folled by another then a couple hussars then the bite shut down and we headed further out in search of a couple reds.
Arriving there where my Brother in law was already anchored we hooked into about another hundred undersized reds and managed one legal red and 4 lippers.... a black king......... Couple venus tusks........another nice Small mouth..........Hussars brown and pink........... A bludger trevalley ........... one cod..and a good spangled.... But the spanish eluded us .
Dolphins in a small pod kept us entertain the entire day diving in and out of the waves and swimming up to the boat with a small calf........Then we were visited by a 15 foot tiger shark that swam awfully close to the dolphins but both didn't seem to care about each other .
The weather dropped out to a lovely day for the trip home cept for the last 9 km where the Northerly was uncomfortable
But great to get out and catch a feed and enjoy it away from the stressful usual of life.
