hello all 'been off this site for 5 yrs but its good to be back,,q-i have a 15ft mustang with a 70 horse evenrude .the boat has been out of action for 2 yrs [slack] and my push pull steering has seized .have unhooked from motor and tried to free the inner cable by twisting the flat end with a shifter ,but to no avail..does anyone have any helpful hints or tips.cheers .:-/

buy a new one
i had the same drama a couple of weeks ago after not using the boat for a month and could not free it up let alone 2 years

Not worth stuffing around with IMO...get a new cable and helm ...steering system is as important as the motor..

I agree i went for the hydraulic option, costs more $$$$$$$$$$$ wut well worth it i reckon:)

Heard of it being fixed by chopping the bottom off a coke bottle, inserting the cable into the mouth of the bottle and sealing water tight , fill coke bottle with diesel and letting gravity eventually seep diesel through cable.
