Hey all, heading to Bli Bli Barra Park this monday (Aussie Day) for a fish with 2 mates. I was wondering what the traffic should be like? Also any tips on plastics in which they will take is perfect. Report will be up Monday night.

Cheers Tom

Take plenty of money, because it will cost a bucket load.

Brad.

Hey mate, how much is a "bucket load"?
I have been thinking of going for a day also.

Well for us "juniors" it costs 15 bucks for 4 hours, and that comes with some pellets and a spare hook.

For 3 hours Snag, also you can stay for longer.

Adults are $35 for all day, pocket change. I guess it would work out expensive if you wanted to keep the barra ($40/kg), but catching them isn't expensive.

I'm pretty sure we would catch and release anyway, the barra from a pond probably wouldn't taste to awesome.

$35 seems ok.
That is only a small tank of petrol these days.
Thanks for that.

Be sure to let us know how you go.. I bought Dad a day pass for christmas, but I'm not sure when we're going yet.

I've just upgraded my rod(s) and reel(s) so I'm getting closer to spending an entire 10 minutes driving there. :P

traffic will be all right tuesday monday will be fine if you leave home by 8 and leave the coast by around 1

Ok thanks guys, we would be leaving the coast at around 2pm, it all depends on the weather I guess.

Chamelion,
I'll definately be making a report and I hope to get my mate onto his first Barra!

good luck, they are very smart fish out there. livies or just the pellets they give you are the go, if you can keep the pellets on the hook. nothing out there looks at anything artificial they are all to well fed and been caught plenty of times. i only go there if i have a reason (free tickets, for mates b-day etc) and they dont fight anything like a wild fish does.

my 2 cents

Thanks Bones, I am mainly going to have some fun with my mate as he's not caught a wild/impouded Barra yet.

good enough to catch one?

baically is it worth stopping at BCF on the way up and buy tackel etc etc... as it would get used not wasted?

or should I go up and rent them?
