Spaniard and others.

Can you tell me the circulation path of the cooling water in a yamaha 4 stroke (60) please or any 4st outboard for that matter?

I'm guessing Pump>tube>where does it enter the block?>block/head simultaneously>thermostat>exhaust cover plate?>where/how does it enter the leg.

Four stroke auto is Bottom radiator tank>waterpump>block/cylinder jackets>head>thermostat>radiator top tank>Radiator core>bottom tank.

Just interested how the cooling system has been adapted to 4st mounted vertically.

Cheers

hi,
tim_n might be able to help, send him a pm, he fits heat exchangers to them to get hot water on board, has a pretty good knowledge of their plumbing
cheers

BL,

You basically have it correct pump>tube>Powerhead adapter plate>block and Head simultaneously>Thermostat>exhaust manifold>adapter plate where it mixes with the exhaust gasses> leg

Thanks Garry,

Thats been a great help. The dual T/stat setup is neat solution to the disparate cooling requirements of block and head.
