Did a seam in my 40' timber boat offshore from Mooloolaba on thursday night. The water was comming in faster than the bilge pumps and hand bailing could remove. The pump in the engine room eventually failed due to sawdust and wood chips from recent repair (even though I was continually dismantling it). We were escorted by VMR to Mooloolaba where they had a fire pump waiting. We were able to pump the water every to hours throughout the night (after 2 hours the water was 18" in the mid cabin. The boat is now at boatyard undergoing repairs. Thanks to VMR and especially the two guys with the pump. VMR do a fabulous job. Cheers Winston.
