Haven't been able to get on here for a while. The missus too busy organising open house parties on MySpace.

Few pics from early December with my old man and sister getting into a few nice ones from the drop off at Iron Pot.

On the new moon just before New Year the old man and I racked up a Matty Hayden summer test score of good size grunters in the Jew Hole. The winds were up more than expected so could only poke around in close and we made plenty of good meals of top tucker out of stinkin slabs of mac tuna. Also managed to jag my only spanish for the year spinning a taipan. All the effort I have been going to rigging fancy troll baits lately without luck leaves me scratching my head in disgust!

Bring on the good stuff for the aussie days weekend!!

Thanks for the replies. Really enjoy being back in CQ for obvious reasons.

The boat is a Haines Hunter 565SF centre consol getting close to 25yrs old now. The transom has been replaced and a pod added.

We don't bother going out on smaller tides so percentage has been excellent. Hope the wind goes and the water cleans up enough to do some spearfishing on those small run weekends.

Good one dude. At least your getting plenty of practice rigging those baits.

Nice hydro set up you got there. Doubles as a rod rack as well.

Mate
Which island or area do you call Iron Pot. I often see it mentioned in the Magazines .

Mick, taking the piss with the drop off at Iron Pot. It's the volcanic plug island off double heads at Rosslyn Bay. No real fish there except for mackeral during the cooler months. The drop off is about 30miles directly north.
