Just ennquiring if there is any rule for minn kota motors relating to the length needed, I have a sea jay 4.35 that i want to buy a bowmount for and just wondering is there a way of measuring from the bow to anywhere on the hull so you know what length is needed thanks.

I have a 4.2m Blue Fin, mine has a 55 pound thrust long shaft. That is the only way to go, if you get the short shaft it will come out of the water in any kind of swell.

Doggy,

I also have have a Seajay 4.35 (Escape model). Don't forget if you have a Nomad the hull is different.

My minn kota is a 55 pound thrust. Shaft length is approx 1300mm.

Don't forget you can adjust the motor depth if you need to.

Happy to send a photo of my setup if needed.

Steve

Go grab the minn kota book from your local dealer, it has details on how to measure your boat for the shaft length required.
