hi guys took the boat out 2 day the check engine alarm went of slowed her down turned her off .resarted her off i go about 5 minutes or so she is sounding again same thing again left her in idle still running 100%the alarm stopped about 10-20 secs later then the light went off about 10 sec after that and thoughts guys would be good cheers sorry guys 1 have a 98 150 hp evin

What Light came on with the alarm.

A stab in the dark would be the overheat alarm.

no the alarm that went off was the check engine alarm

was it a solid alarm or beeping alarm??

Hope for your sake it is as simple as mine was - check that the fuel line isn't kinked or filter blocked, low pressure/flow can set off the alarm.

yeah what im going to do is next time out is take a 23 ltre fuel tank and see what happens run the big tank first and if alarms/ swap over and ill check it out

Just admitting my stupidity. I left the Muffs on for a trip all the way from bribie to hutchies and back. Could not work it out. If I travelled below 3200 rpm - no problem but any thing over that and the alarm would go off. Only noticed it when I put it on the trailer - up the ramp and walked around the back. BUGGER. THERE"S THE PROBLEM.
