Hey All !

Got a 3.3 mtr snyper tinnie,

Just invested in a tube for my young lad for xmas:)

Just wondering what will be the best way to attach it to the boat as it has rear handles on either side,

I have to Y rope with the rope links on each of the 2 ends,

I was thinking looping around and using a little D-shackle to affix it on each side??

Any help would be appreciated :)

Yeah mate ive got a 3.9 and wakeboard behind it easily. I have the y rope going to the handles either side of the motor and works a charm.
Nick.

Thanx for those links Hornet but i didnt see any posts with details of exactly i should attach the Y rope to my tinny, like a knot which ive read is a No No, or a D shackle, I understand i can go through the loop on 1 side but what about the other side???

Sorry Zooter, never towed anyone on a biscuit or plastic toy behind a tinny, so I can't help you there. The reference to the other posts was to help you with those other considerations. I'd also recommend you get a water sports safety helmet for your lad.

use a 'bowline' to attach the other end.

I would also use a bridle rig & pulley across the transom to ensure an even pull, and especially while turning. 3.3 is a small tinny - if the tube digs in while turning (and you're not used to towing) might lead to problems i.e. flipping. otherwise just make sure you keep this in mind, & don't turn too sharply.
cheers
PS. the handles on some tinnies are not welded on too well, a pulley will help here too & may save you popping one off.

Zooter, there is a rig set up example in this post by 'bigtez', similar to the advice from gofishin above.

used to do this all the time when we were kids behind tinnies. Use either a d-shackle or just snap clips. The snap clips just make it easier to get on and off
quickly, but the d-shackles do the same job. Agree you should def have a bridle going between with a pulley, they are only about $20 and will save you heaps of dramas
