Hi All
I currently own a aluminium savage osprey 5.5m and as i'm going to repaint in the near future i'm considering the posibilty of extending the hull to bring it out inline with the half pod and enclosing the area under the rear platform. I'm of the opinion that structually the boat wont be changed but maybe i'm wrong. The aim would be to give the boat a bit more bouyancy at the back as it does seem to bury its backside a bit under power. Would love to go 4stroke but the extra weight scares me.

Has anyone done this to a savage osprey or other?

Do you think it will make any differance?

My cousin recently added a pod to the back of his boat similar to your setup. Sat very bum heavy in the water. He then made a new pod that basically extends the bottom plate right through to the motor and fully flotation tanked and now it sits perfectly and lost about 3kph off top end speed, but it handles a lot better. I suspect fuel usage may have increased marginally but in the end its worth every cent of it.
