I went to an upolsterer in glady today to get a rough quote on how much some clears would cost for my cruisecraft outider. the zips are on the bimni for the clears already, he said $750. is that fair? i didn't think it was considering how little work has to be done. I'm after a new travel cover too, but going off the cost of clears it would cost me like $2500 for a new one. any suggestions as to who i could see about making some up for me?

G'day

Just count yourself lucky you don't have a 408 meridian, client was quoted somewhere in the vicinity of 8k for canopy and clears.

Pay a fair price for clears, the material itself is expensive, maybe ask an auto upholsterer that knows what they're doing to do the job... possibly cheaper.

Best off getting a few quotes, apples to apples and see what you think

I was quoted $ 400 for clears for my 18 ft er.
Canopy on, but no zips for side clears.......

I thought that was a bit much, but then I found out ( as Dave says ) that the gear they use costs a bomb.

Have you thought about asking Cruisecraft? I asked about a new camping cover for my 625 Outsider and thought the price was reasonable.. Certainly less than the clears. Just a thought..

Seems a bit expensive, for memory I paid about $400 for side clears, $150 for front on the Haines.

Couple of quotes is the way to go
