Can anyone recommend a good place to get an outboard serviced around the morayfield/caboolture area? I've only just moved up here from and don't really know where to take my boat.

FISHER BOATS - they have 2 full time outboard technicians and service all brands as well as being a Suzuki Dealer.

Cunninghams at Clontarf are Mercury dealers, as are Crew Marine at Redcliffe. I was going to suggest Fisher boats also, though they arent a mercury dealer...from all reports I have heard they are great mechanics.

To some degree it depends on the age of your engine. Dealers of new engines typically dont like older engines and as such have a fairly negative attitude towards working on them.

You are better off with an independant repairer who isnt first and foremost wanting to sell you a new engine.

They service and repair all brands so I would say Mercs are not a problem.
Give them a call and ask the question.

If you would like someone to come to you try Mark Gullotta, he is a mobile outboard & sterndrive mech. He did his apprenticeship in the Caboolture area about 20 years ago, moved to Sydney to run his own shop, has recently moved back to Morayfield, his number is 0412524200.

i'm in that area revolt and have used mick who has pacific blue for a one off this year (because i couldn't get wade in time) and he was ok, but still preferred my regular mechanic, wade weimers. both mick and wade are mobile so you won't have to take your boat anywhere. Wade's number is 0437733056.

G'day,

I have a Mercury. Bought it at Cunningham's and have had it serviced there. Not dirt cheap but very thorough and show you bits they've replaced and tell you why. Will quote you before work is done and stick to their price.

The service department opens early to book in work.

Good people.
