roz

Late last month I took Wags aka Mike to Awoonga for some barra fishing. Sadly no Barra on the day, but we did score a free lure.

Can you spot the lure????

Good luck.

obviously some people have too much spare time to sit and look for it.
There probably isn't even one in the pic...Roz does have an evil sense of humuor

I have a mate that runs a shepperds lease on the banks of Glen Lyon dam. Every yr after the water has dropped a fair bit (most yrs) he dreads shearing the sheep for all the lures they pick up in thier fleeces. About a dozen yrs ago i was there just after he finished shearing and he had a 20 litre drum about 3/4 full of lures the sheep had found in the previous yr. Not bad for about 2000 sheep i guess.

Nearly all the lures are ruined by this stage after being trampled by hundreds of hooves and decay in the sun and elements.

Phill.

Is that why it took Wags so long to get it and there's a bit of a story behind it.
Roz said...looky there Mike. There's a lure just down there.
Mike says where?
Roz says just down there...can't you see it??....etc etc

Wags had to go commando (and it was cold) to get it as it was nearly time to go home and they didn't want to get the seat covers of the car wet.

And as Pinhead so rightly pointed out Roz has an evil sense of humour ::)

Where did you find the boat Phil???
Gees, what else is in the picture??

By the looks of the size of lures needed up there I'd better upgrade poor little 'Junior' before I go :(

Damo got it in post 3, athough very blurry.
A lot of timber ended up in the boat in the effort to retrieve the lure.

ON YA WAGS:P I was going to keep it bubbling along for a short while.

You all might as well know the story.

We just about demolished the tree getting it down. We had no hope of reaching it with any type of fishing rod, so I shot up a sinker attached to braid which was then doubled around the branch, then down came branches twigs... and one lure!!!

Hope you all enjoyed the post.;D

I'm quite happy to return it to the original owner, but first I'd need to know what he was drinkin to have landed it so high in the tree.

I remember relieving you of the casting duties Mike:P .

Have rarely come away from Awoonga without a 'free' lure...sadly can't say the same about the barra:-[ .
