Hi guys i am looking to improve this boat for the family:

old dehavilland 70-80's dull looking no seats ply floor loose, needs clean hull and sides


Got 1500 wanna spend ..


ideas:

..One piece screen 650 approx

..New floor

..Bench seat welded in at back and/or front or alloy floor and pedestals
given 3 swivel base tinny seats basic Grey plastic

..Paint etc

..Bimini canopy 300 approx

..is it worth sand blasting a cost of $200.00 or can i Diy that ?

..is it worth buying/hire compressor and gun to do job ?

.asking for advice on easiest way to paint ?

..thinking 2 liters primer & 4 liters for top coats should do ?

..Not sure on 2pac single pac or enamel ?

..picked up 55lb transom mount water snake for 150 new

You could do what others have done here and polish with an electric buffer and pigfat. Brings it up to a mirror finish.

not sure about the pig fat wife would not get in then hmmmm.

did that one start off like mine thou remember mines a 80's boat so quite old alloy

I'd just use some cheap(but has to be structural outdoor grade)ply for the floor, and whack some pedestal seats in. Biminis are a pain in the arse to fish around with all the support straps. Maybe look at a canvas front canopy with a clear plastic screen for the days the family wants to come out, and you can remove it when you don't want it. Good for shade too, with a zip out front screen. Bit ugly, though.

thanks fox gives me something to think about as this is my biggest boat yet and goes ok with good motor want to keep for a while so will think b4 doing lol
