G'day everyone,
I just finished my first fly rod for some time and was really happy with it. The blank is a St Croix SC111 902 5#. I used Seymo snake guides and hoop tip. The reel seat is from American Tackle and features Dragon Wood trims and seat. Hopefully I picked up the colurs of the wood in the underwrap for the feather inlay. I really do hate doing those fine tip areas on fly rods!
Regards

Looks nice with the feather.
Is that the road kill in the background that donated the feather??
I like the colour change as well.
I think that is a perfect example of something reasonably plain and simple being very, very effective.

Thanks Finga and DB. The feathers in the background are grizzled hackle feathers and the other photo is a pheasant skin I have. PLain and simple but very effective on a fly rod (or any other rod for that matter). The dragon wood had shades of green with tan in it. The photo doesn't show the wood to the best. The feathers in the inlay are Rhea, grizzled hackle, turkey and jungle cock.
Thanks
Mark

I have seen these feather inlays before and appreciate the effort that goes into them. Nice work Mark.
Even though the camera / pics don't truely represent the colours of the wood, it appears to work well together to me...

Thanks everyone, Finga the handle with the Dragon Wood is from the American Tackle Company. They are very nicely done and add a touch of class to a fly rod. IMHO.
