Went to Awoonga Dam for the first time on Friday scored this Barra trolling a night 82cm 7kg on a gold viper.

top stuff mex i hope its the first of many more ,fish that size are one of the better looking fish out of there they sare still in proportion and have great colors thru them i havnt fished awooga dam though ;D ;D awoonga i go too

Thanks Warrior have edited that mistake.Caught plenty saltwater barra in NT but the dams are closer to home(sunny coast) hoping next time will be the metre plus.Mex

I love living 1hr from awoonga. Congrats on your fish.. there are plenty that size and 1m+.... The ones under 1m are often better sport then the larger ones.

yeh he definently gave it his best starting with a big launch out of the water on the first run and gave a few more good runs before being netted at the boat.Forgot to add that i did release the barra to fight another day.

Not a bad drive from the Sunny coast. I pinch myself i am only 3.5hrs from Mondy!!

All the action seemed to be at night when we were there but a little slow at that .Some blokes got 105cm and 90cm fish.

That is a beutiful fish mate.
Not huge but one of the prettiest I have seen, magnificent colour! :D
