hey,

does anyone know the state of play with using a hose to wash down a boat at a marina. Do marinas fall into the non residential restrictions or residential. does this mean you can use a hose after 4pm (sat/sun) provided odds and evens ? do the marinas have the final say or what. can we use hoses ???? had a look on the bcc website and going by that you should be able to. does the marina have the final say as to if hoses are used>??

surely someone can help me out

marina is at redclifffe

cheers

G'day

contact the marina office directly. I do a lot of wash downs because the marinas themselves will not let anyone other than a commercial operator wash down their boat.

You should still be ok for engine/brakes flushing if your boat is trailed.

Here is a link to Moreton Bay Council's web site and detail on water restrictions;

http://www.moretonbay.qld.gov.au/living.aspx?id=878

and the Qld Water Commission's page here;

http://www.qwc.qld.gov.au/

The actual full restrictions document link is here;

Section 4 seems to be the relevant section. I read it as you have i.e. you can only use a hose on Sat/Sun from 4.00 to 4.30pm. You can use a bucket at all other times the same as for other vehicles.

As Dave has stated approved Commercial Operators can wash down at anytime (See Section 4.2).

I did read somewhere that you can flush a motor at anytime but can't find the reference now, sorry.

Cheers
