Bow Mount Electric

I was thinking of getting a bow mounted electric to fit to my Allycraft 395 Shadow and I was wondering as this boat has bow rails that run full length to nose does this mean they (bow rails) will have to be shortened so electric can be mounted or are they able to be fitted without modifications.

Here are a couple of photos showing how I mounted a Minn Kota to my Allycraft.

Basically, I cut the bow rail as shown and knocked a solid piece of aluminium stock into one end of the piece of rail I cut out. I ground it down so it fitted inside the end of the remaining bow rail on the boat

I then cut up another piece of aluminium tube to make a sleeve which slides over the other end. I put a dab of weld inside the sleeve and filed it down slightly so it was a nice tight fit.

The end result was a rail that I can remove quickly without tools for when I want the electric on.
