Hi All, Just had a week at Borumba Dam.From 12th To 19 Oct. Just after The
Anaconda mini bucks Shoot out and the Variety Chrildrens Toga on Fly.
Hell those Big boats sure stir up the water.Took a couple of days before
the fish came on the bite.
3 of us caught 24 Bass,to 45 cm.Fork length on hard body lures
20 Silver Perch to 45cm. 8 were on Fly the rest on Lures & bait
5 Saratoga To 60cm. 4 were on Fly The other on Popper
Lost several larger Toga ,,They will be bigger next time????
Never kept anything Too good to Catch once........

Thong, I am thinkin of headin to Borumba for the next few days, your report sounds better than most from around the traps. :)

What sort of H'bodies were the Bass taken on mate?

Where from, weeds, basin, cliff, trees, wall, shadows?

Did you try spinners or softies?

Sounds promising, :D
I too leave them for the next bloke, they are not real good eating anyway 8-)

Hi Darylive, We used Hardbody on Bass along Rock walls and cliffs .Well up towards the top of the Dam,Couldn,t get a lick closer than about 5or 6 k,s
up from ramp. Stump Jumper lures #29 & #32colours( Gold Black)
Most of the Silvers were on a White Fly
Tried spinnerbaits and Plastics with no luck
Would post some photos if i could find out how (HELP)
Hope it helps,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Thong Thing

ps. Got a Bass and Silver on Thong Thing Popper.....................

Thongthing, its not those big boats that shut the fishing down. Its been very hit and miss there for quite a few months now, but with some good days in between. The fishing should improve from here on with an increase in water temp and stable weather patterns. Well, we all hope so. Most dams around the place have been struggling the past few months.
So its not the boats to blame, just the past weather conditions.
Cheers
Bill
