Can anyone give me rough indication of price of the 50hp ETEC and TLDI Evinrude? Only after a rough approximate, thinking about repowering my boat.

Hi TRA,

these figures are from F & B Mags October price listing of RRP;

Evinrude E-Tec Model E50DPLSD - $9,172

Tohatsu TLDI Model MD50 EPTOL - $7,399

Those prices are supposedly for forward steer long shaft models., options etc will vary the price further.

Cheers

Dave

Watsons Marine at Lismore has a new F60 4 stroke $7500 cancelled order (normally $8600). I am also chasing options on repowering.

Cheers SSMojo, but my boat says 50 on the plate. Got an F50 now thats pretty reliable, just tossing around with the idea of going to a DI 2 stroke to get that extra bit. The ETEC looks a little bit pricey for the very little gain I would get, but the TLDI Tohatsu fits the bill. Would be interested in hearing how reliable they are.

G'day Andy,

I don't know where you are located but B&M Outboards in Townsville specialise in Tohatsu. They are a small family company who provide good quality service and advice. Due to their size and minimal overheads they do not charge through the nose.

I bought my 40hp Tohatsu (not TLDI) from them about 5 years ago. They were the cheapest in town by a long shot, I priced everything in the 40hp range. It has been an extremely reliable outboard and I would buy Tohatsu again.

Give them a ring if you feel inclined, you'll get honest advice. (07) 4779 6569

I have TLDI 90 and am wrapped - 300hrs + and no dramas, great on fuel, no smoke to speak of, teriffic motor.

Got mine at Neptune Marine Springwood. Servicing by Jon Eadie (mobile) a Tohatsu expert.
