Hi,

I am by no means an experienced voice to listern to but this is just my opinion, i would think that underpowering can have u revving your small motor alot more to get the boat moving --having to use alot more juice in doing so, where is a larger motor at mere cruising speed would be using less and pushing it along better, not sure on the weight of a 5.5 caribbean but for a glass boat that size i would expect something around a 115-135hp range would suit, id definately try not to go below a 90hp thats for sure.

Cheers

Have to agree with Bandit1. A smaller motor will be working its guts out for less performance and will most likely cost you MORE in fuel. Go the biggest motor you can afford, it will pay off in the long run.
