So some of you will remember my post commenting on what a slog Borumba dam was earlier in the month, and i said i was giving it the forks and heading back to an old faithfull spot to chase some wild bass rather than their stocked cousins.

Well i decided to put lure to water on monday this week and came up trumps in my usual haunt. This fishing was'nt super hot but 4 Bass made the trip worthwhile. It was so good to feel a nice Bass playing hell with me in tight water again... have'nt been hooked up since before the closed season in June!

So a good first real trip. I think i'll head back again next month when the water really warms up, November last year was a blinder with 12 to 15 fish in a morning session the norm!

Anyway, some pics/fishing porn below for you all. Bass are such a beautiful
fish....

None of the fish were big Cam. even the bigger one pictured below as under the 45cm mark, i think 43 for memory? That bigger one though gave Leon hell around the snags, and i nearly called it for a Jack for the first 10 seconds. We put it down to the size of his tail wrist, if you look it is quite elongated. That coupled with their nice big paddle tale can give them some grunt! It's not the size of the fish in the fight - its the size of the fight in the fish i'm more interested! All these fellas gave a great account of themselves!
