Has anyone had any experience installing a car cd player in a boat? Or a boat CD player. If so how do I install it?

G'day
Its incredibly simple, are you having problems with mounting or wiring?

Nah I haven't started yet, I still have to get it this weekend but I just want an idea if I need anything else. So probably the wiring stage.

There will be a wiring diagram with it. The speaker wires will be tagged or colour coded. Hook it up to a fused power supply & that is about it.

a marine player yes...definitely... and marine speakers...cardboard and water dont get on too well....
make sure you use a fuse or u can blow s**t up
and u probably dont want a common earth for the speakers... wire each separately
other than that is dead easy....

I put a car CD player in, no dramas at all
Fusion Marine Speakers.
I mounted the CD player inside a water resistant box I got from " WOW " and mounted the the lot inside the glove box. Worked a treat and stayed dry

I just installed a GME 9020 stereo, very easy job, just be patient and take your time.

If You mount it on your Dash carefull when you hose down the boat. You don't need water in a CD player.

Depending on your boat, think about this before you drill or cut any holes . . .
My boat had the player mounted on the dash in the weatherproof surround but he had not fixed the speakers in. Mine is a half cabin and at the moment I have still not fixed them in, they are just wedged in nicely shelves either side in the cabin.
I will probably get two extra speakers for my boat as if two are just in the cabin then the people at the back of the boat will need it turned up a fair bit, thus making it too loud for anyone in the cabin ! ! !
If you have four speakers you can fade the front and rears as necessary.
If I ever get around to it I will let you know how I get on. Not really a priority at the moment though as it would be good if the wind dropped enough for us to actually go out!
