well went fishing today and not much was happening out on the water, so i tied off some line about 30cm long off my swivel and put a 5" squidgee on the end of a 4/0 hook unweighted.
over the day i caught 2 Hussar on the plastic, either because they didn't touch the bait, or the bait had been taken by pickers.
i was preety happy as this is the first fish i've caught on the reef using plastics.

Hussar were legal. biggest i think was about 30cm

Congrats LG -its a start. Must have been great weather to use the plastic unweighted outside?

oops. should have mentioned that i had a 2 hook snell rig on the bottom of my line with the plastic coming off the swivel... thought i'd try something different.. and it worked.

Yahoo i think ya meant Jase .................. Here i am thinking you picked up a Blue water Hurricane machine ......... the elusive Wahoo.
Couple have been caught of late around here

lol. no i meant Wahoo. as in Homer Simpson...
i was going to fish with just plastics, but i left all my 7" ones at home :(
