depends where u depart from and which direction wind is blowing from and where u are going, also turns ugly in the bay when you have wind over tide

My rule is I check Sea Breeze for a prediction
Check Coast watch for current wind speed
Only go out if its blowing 10k or less from any direction except N and not predicted to increase a great deal
I dont fish in Northerly winds, the fish dont seem to like it and the are I fish is exposed to any Swells from N

Check http://www.bom.gov.au/cgi-bin/wrap_fwo.pl?IDQ17500.txt

Anything over .7 wave and if can be fun, above 1m and it'll be a rough trip back. All depends on what boat you have. The wind can get up pretty quick in the bay so check the forecast.

I'd stick to 10/15 max.

Look for those days with an early SE breeze going round to NE in the afternoon. These are the best days, garenteed to flat out in the bay.

yep, andy's on it. a sw thru to ne arvo breeze is a good day. if you're over the eastern side of the bay it can blow all it likes from the east and you'll have a top day and a following sea to come home in.

ummmm wouldn't 0knt winds be the best? :-/

seriously, it depends on so many factors like your boat size, wind direction, tide etc

but when it gets to 20-25knts is when I will give it a miss
