anyone done this before or know a shipping company that specialise in this sort of thing ? There are some good cheap boats in the NZ and im sure this might be a cheap viable option to buying a boat here.

shipped as deck cargo is cheapest but stuff can go missing off it. a container is safe but maybe to xy . when thinking of returning to nz years ago it was just to hard .even making a run over there in the boat had lots problems [legal.size of ones balls. amount of fuel etc] lol

Sofrana are the only freight mob that do it as far as I am aware and they are expensive.

For a repair job that I have in the Solomon Islands I initially looked at freighting the boat to Oz to work on it. 31ft Flybridge cruiser. Sofrana wanted $20,000 each way! so $40K to bring it to Bris (not Melb). Hence, I am repairing it in situ in sunny Honiara.

Give Sofrana a call. There may be others but I do recall them being the only company I could find.

Cheers
