Headed out early sunday with Deeks the escavator operator to get him his first snapper on plastics. rounded the cape to be met with 15-20knots of southerly, not 5-10. Deeks pulled the first and only snapper on a 5 inch powerbait and was pumped for more but that was it. Checked hutchies for bugger all action. Headed to another spot for a bit of a look and anchored up for a bit. First hook up was mine, a big cobia that after a long fight decided to head for new zealand but only stopped when two huge sharks ate it within 1 minute, very humbling. Next Deeks hooks up to a solid fish and after 30 minutes of pain lands a 20 kg Cobia and is in need of a rest and a beer. Deeks 2 me 0. time to go home and the weather glassed off for a beautiful run home.
