got out sunday afternoon, a tad worried about the swell from the days before, haha was like a lake! went 2 our spot x out from curras, first drift and this bloody clown drives straight up out lines, circles our boat and drops their anchor about 15m in front of us, we let them have the spot, no fish showing on the sounder anyway suckers
anyway we headed back into another spot where we saw pillies on the surface on the way out, awesome show of fish on the sounder, drop the pik, throw out the plastics, pearl white and nuclear chicken, not long after onto a solid snappery squire, i put out a fresh pillie with no weight, line starts shredding off, know its better, pull up about a 5-6kg snapper, ahh thats more like it, next im onto another good fish on the pearl white, its a nobbie, but one of those ones that have the appearance of a massive one but not the size, he had about a 12/0 hook rusting away in his mouth, now it was the old mans turn, two goodins in a row, one on the chook other on a fillet of gar
then all hell broke loose a 4 way hook up, every one of them all about 37cm, all back in the drink to grow a little bigger, anchor pulled and we drifted off the mark
getting too cold for us so headed home with 4 snapper and 3 squire
strange not catching anything else?? snapper must have been dominating the place
