Hi Bob

At the bottom right hand side of your serial tag is a letter. If you let me know what that letter is I can give you a year model.

689 then stamped L 411943

Hi Bob
The L you talk about stands for long shaft.
Sounds like an 80's model. Some of the first ones didn't have a stamped letter. However, if it's there it will be at the bottom right of the Tag, stamped. Very hard to see. At different angles you may just make it out.
Eg, K= 1985, J=86, etc.
