Went to Noosa fishing for the first time on saturday. After some advice from some fellow ausfishers and 1 GPS mark we headed for the close in reefs. The bar crossing went well and after a very short run we were onto a good show around a pinnacle. The fishing wasnt super hot but we managed a good feed of snapper for the day with 7 keepers and 3 dropped fish. Lime tiger won the day with the most hookups followed by nuclear chicken then bait. The weather was flat calm and we shot back across the bar just on dusk.this was my first crossing and i wanted some light because the entrance is very narrow. Thanks to Benny and Pete for the tips. I am coming back before the end of snapper season.

Good effort for your first trip in the area mate. well done!

My oldies live at Tewantin, and ive been thinking of making my first trip off Noosa soon. Approx how far out did you go? and in what size boat? I dont think I want to go too far out first time.

Cheers Marc.

cheers Benny. Top spot when the bar is nice and i reckon you would get some good pelagic action in summer.
