OK, we just bought a new family boat and I have some questions about top speed.
It's a 2008 Caravelle 217LS with a 350 MAG MPI, Bravo 1 Leg with 1:50 ratio and Merc Vengeance 21P 3B stainless prop.
Ok took her out this morning for a test run to see what we get at WOT with only the Mrs and me. Calm smooth water and no wind, also 11 degrees.
Max I could get is 4700rpm, 86.4km/hr on the GPS
Slowest planning speed was 2400rpm, 38.4km/hr
Considering the WOT range for the 350 MAG MPI is 4800- 5200 I am definitley not in the correct range ?
Talking with the yanks they believe I should be easliy getting over 60Mph, 100km
So what to do ???
PS- I lost out on a cuddy cab to the SWMBO as a family boat :'( still happy though
