Hi Mate,
I brought a "extreme" brand kayak a couple of years ago from a kayak shop in highett melbourne ( cant remember the name) for $400 all up i spent $500 with paddle, pfd, seat, rod holder, . Its very stable for fishing in estuarys, rivers etc. My mate has a hobie and its nowhere near as good as that but for a quarter of the price its bloody good value. I decked mine out with a carpeted rack on the rear (for tackle box's, jacket, etc) i also got some pvc and made a cylinder that seals and i use that for my mobile, keys, wallet. i have an etrex, swivel rod holder, fixed rod holder for a net. I hope you have some luck tracking one down.
Cheers Fozzy.

Dan,

Suggest you keep an eye on www.tradingpost.com.au (http://www.tradingpost.com.au) I've got 2 good quality yaks via this spot at very good prices over the past few years. Note: The good yaks always go quickly. So look regularly.

Cheers,

Pete
