With properly maintained engines there would be very little in reliability.. possibly %10 better performance and fuel economy

yep, agree on that one, some fuel savings, more power (maybe) reliability, toss a coin, will be almost the same Motor.

Hi joe, i have a 02 carby 60 yam purchased new on a 4.3 tinnie, my brother has a 07 efi 60 yam on a 4.5 tinnie, boats are same layouts ie- flat floors, casting decks, under floor fuel etc. Both motors sound the same, have same idle quality, power seems no different, his starts first go hot or cold, mine 2 or 3 hits of starter cold, mostly 1st go hot. We have not done any in depth fuel tests but seems to be little differance. No problems with either motor to date. Hope this helps.

Mick.
