I have a flush mounted Suzuki throttle control on my boat and it sometimes moves on it's own when hitting a wave. This causes the engine to lose revs and requires constant attention. It always slows the engine down and then needs to be pushed back down again. It never goes the other way.

I thought this would be an easy fix by somehow tightening the throttle. While I was doing some other jobs that required a side panel to be removed, I pulled apart the throttle control and could not find any way to adjust the tension. The manual I have shows the control type that is not flush mounted and this has a tension screw, but I could not find an equivalent on the flush mounted control.

Any tips? What do I have to do to increase the tension on the throttle? Is tjis the best way to solve this problem?
