What would be the smoothest riding boat for offshore and bay work, in the 4.5-5.3m range, and under $22000 on the second hand market. I like the look of the Haines Signature 492f at the moment. Any others in the cuddy half cab range, one could suggest be worth a look.

Look no further,,,,, you have found the right boat. ;) 8-)

Then again, a smooth ride can depend on who's driving the rig.. :P ;)

I have a 492F w an 85 Suzuki and its great, I've have never read a bad report on the 492 (I have most of them). The hull is superb.

You love your boat don't you. That's a good thing as the 492 or 493 is at the top of my list, and it is reasuring to see someone that loves this model so much. Now I just have to decide on which one.

Have a look at the Polycraft boats in the 5.3. A very smooth riding boat. If you want to check a bit more info about them talk to the blokes on www.polyboatowners.com (http://www.polyboatowners.com) Quite a few of them are members here as well. We love our poly boats, but are not so one eyed as to think they will be everyone's favourite. You will get some good info there if you ask, and it is a friendly crew.

Seafarer Vsea or a Viking... That's If you can find one for $22K.... There are a top boat, and are one off the better built, and smooth riding boat that you can buy.... They do attract higher price, but once you have been in one you will understand why they cost the extra $$$..... Look around hard enough, and you'll find one under the $22K price tag...
