Hi, I have been making sinkers and untill now I have had my own lead but I have allmost used it all. I have called some scrap metal shops and they will sell dirty lead for $2 a kilo, I think thats a bit to much.
Where can I get good, clean, cheap lead, I dont want to use batterys because you spend ages smashing them up.
Please help.

Thanks

$2 a kilo in cheap, I keep all the scrap lead sheet from work for sinkers.
Mate I am paying over $400 for a 6m roll of lead about 30kg
Try some tire shops, they might help
Sadly I think lead from building sites is going to be a thing of the past, we are now using a Dux product. Cheaper than lead, easier to work with and a 4m roll weight about 1kg

Housing demolition yards keep lead. Many old homes had gutters and flashing made of lead.

I suppose a nightly walk around your local streets and along the main road may find the lead tyre balancing weights - always notice them in the kerb.

It's not the mother load but could keep you entertained.

Lead prices world wide have gone through the roof. Some tackle suppliers have gone out of supplying sinkers altogether and only sell steal sinkers how to retailers

for the cost of sinkers V's the massive health risks of smoltering lead - is it really worth it?

I hate even handing the stuff and the dust it leaves behind on your fingers and coats your tackle box where you store it...
