Ok, had the boat for nearly a year so it must be coming up to its service.

2004 Evin 115 DI with only 80 hours on it. ( Looks brand new under the cover ).

Who's going to do a proper job at a reasonable rate. I've seen Marine WorX, and Wynum Marine mentioned in the past.

I'm based in Thornlands, and just want someone who will change the parts as required , not overtight bolts etc, and who I can trust as its often my wife and kids in the boat with me. What sort of price range am I looking at ?

Mate i've dealt with Marine worX they did a proper job at a good price.

I towed my boat over the gateway bridge to use them.

I have used Wynnum Marine now for over a decade and they have always looked after me well. Paul seems to know his stuff on the E-Tecs.

Cheers

I take mine to TMC - 94 Beveridge Road, Thornlands, Trev has always looked after my motors and my current 135 DI Evinrude.

OK, still haven't got it serviced, and its now time to bite the bullet.

I'm guessing its a choice between Marine WorX, and Wynum Marine

Marine WorX is just around the corner so the quickest to get to, unless someone has a good mobile service that'll save me dragging the boat out.

I'm with Lethal.
I have bought my etecs through river city marine and Steve in there shed does a great job. Even touched up the paint on the skeg that was missing from my Noosa shallow water adventures! He also adjusted the trailer brakes went he noticed it and I didn't see it on the invoice.

It is well worth the drive to Downes Marine.

You can rest assured when you drive out, the job will be done properly, and you will be charged exactly for his time and the exact parts that were required. Alan is an industry stalwart and old school mechanic, and very well respected in the industry.

One of the best Evinrude/Johnson mechanics in the business.

I agree, go to Downes Marine.

I went to see Alan after reading this thread. My ETEC was due for it's first (3 year) service and it was playing up quite bit. Alan did a great job and my motor is now purring like a kitten.

When I went to pick up my boat Alan took the time to have a chat with me about the motor and encouraged me to call him if I had any questions whatsoever about anything. The covers on the motor were slighty cracked so he took it upon himself to organise replacements for me under warranty. I figured I'd have to replace them at some stage but I wasn't aware I could claim them on warranty.

This man is indeed a guru - go and see him.
