I am wondering what are peoples opionions when comparing a Sol 2500 and Tierra 2500.

What are the postives and negatives of each reel. I tried reading up on it but the only noticable differenece is the price tag. I want to upgrade one of my combos and am tossing up between the two reels.

sol mate a bit more expensive and a tad lighter than the tierra's in weight.

The Sol is a much smoother reel than the Tierra even though the Tierra has an extra bearing.

The reason for the Sol being smoother is that they run the Digigear2 and the Tierra run only the older style digigear.

Do yourself a favour and grab both reel and handle them side by side and see if the extra $'s for the Sol is worth it.

Cheers

I am leaning more towards the sol, but one other question I forgot to ask earlier is-

Is there a big difference between the sol 2000 and sol 2500. I am considering using one of these on a DSR822S. Which would balance with the rod better?

Couldn't say how they would go on the rod, but I have a sol2500 and I couldn't recommend it enough, well worth the $$$.

2500 sol on that rod would be ideal matie or even the DSR820S nice rods

Mate I've got a 2500 Sol and it is by far the best reel I've owned. Never had a Tierra though.

Forgot to mention there's a couple on Ebay at the moment at reasonable prices. Type 'Daiwa Sol' in the search field and they should come up.

I bought my Sol when I was living in Toowoomba from Fish N Bits. They will give you a good price for cash, including Eftpos but not Credit Card.
