Pinkemba Ramp getting dug up

G'Day all,

I went down for a look at the Pinkemba Ramp at lunch time and to my surprise I see it is all fenced off.

It has 2 large excavators there digging up the entire ramp surface.

Sign says it is getting improvements and will be closed until 25th August.

Well it couldn't have been much worse..
Last time I was there I drove down on to the sand beside the ramp and launched and retrieved from there, that sand would have been cheaper than the ramp too.

I bet they don't fix it up properly.

Went down for another look today and got talking to one of the excavator operators.

He advised that they are taking out the hump that was in the ramp and extending it another 10 metres into the river.

It will have pre-cast concrete layed underwater that is bolted together by 4 divers when in place.
