Southport Thursday

Went out off southport thursday for a fish. Pulled up at the spot to see not much going on but a few birds working about a km away.So we thought we would wait and see if they would come closer. About 10 mins latter i was on what every it was it was going at a rate i tryed to stop it and turn it but the 15p line and 20p leader gave up and snaped. Next thing you no my old boy was on he got his in with a bit thicker line it was a 5.5kg mac tuna. Then after doing my line up i was on this time boating a 6.5kg mac tuna . Then dad pulled in another 5.5 kg mac as i lost another one. Next dad was out and on again only to get spolled by something that must of been pretty dam big, there was no stopping it .All in all we got 3 fish and had a top day and alot of fun they must of been thick best fishing we had for a bit;D

We were at narrow neck and we used pillies and it was very busy8-)

Good trip, sounds like great fun! So are you going to eat the mac tuna then? I have always put mine back or used them for bait, have you got a recipe for cooking them?

Love using them for bottom fish slef berleying , but like ya said mate awesome sport

Yer we eat them cut them up chuck them on the bbq with a bit of garlic butter very nice. Also used some for bait but not to much it tastes very nice ;D
