What's going on! Do we have more of a winter wind pattern happening now- finally?

I have noticed on seabreeze these past few days Cairns nearshore is fish-able early with 10kn variable till almost lunch and offshore reef reaching only around double this.

Anyone noticed too! and have they made any plans based on it yet?

Pretty sweet weather the last few days,Scott..
Monday, I was working down on the beachfront and the client(who I did a landscape job for last year)asked me why I was there and not at the reef.
I asked myself the same question but I am free after saturday...and guess what...the winds are forecast to be 20 knots or so...
But as you say, hopefully we will get a bit of that weather where there are only gentle inshore breezes early in the morning and a trip out to mackeral grounds at least might be comfortable for a few hours..

Thanks Scott i was hoping for some input from those that know the weather pattern up here better than me, it is being fickle and yeah the forecast has now gone right down the gurgler:(.

Oh well another weekend the same as the last 9 out of 10.

Good luck getting a window for a fish down there Scott, I have noticed you get it a bit nicer than us one average.

cheers fnq

The weather ahead is not looking so hot but I might take advantage of the morning land breeze and check out the islands for mackeral on sunday.
Its about all we can do,mate.

I talked to the guys at the local tackle shop yesterday and the reports they have had so far this week suggest that the daytime fishing has not been great for trout and mackeral although some nannies have been caught of a night.
But I still want to get out there.http://www.ausfish.com.au/vforum/../yabbfiles/Templates/Forum/default/wink.gif
