Hi I was browsing a Jap website for a Zillion reel. Is the AGGREST 100SH the same reel as the australian Zillion 100SH?

Definitely not! the zillion is still called just that in japan and on the Japanese tackle web sites. There are a few differences between the domestic and japan (considered superior by many) model zillion. The Aggrest is an entirely different model which retails for far less and this should tell u something- quality?

No it is not, the Japanese domestic model and the export model are not that different. Your probably better off buying a USA model off ebay and saving some money.

See this article for a comparison of the JDM and the export version

the Aggrest is most likely the Japanese domestic version of the Excellor exported to Aus and the US.
You can get a JDM zillion for $323 Aud delivered from Bass.jp (http://www.bass.jp/reel.php?c=reel&mode=detail&uid=4960652664912)

There is plenty of the US versions on ebay for around $250 aud delivered. Thats a fair difference for only really cosmetic differences. With the money you save you could nearly purchase a HLC spool or a carbon handle from PLAT and make some real improvements ;D .
