Nothing huge. Cobe was ok. Maori was good. Snaps all 3-4.85kg. Few Pearlies mixed in with them. Darryl was happy to get the monkey off his back with a true Snapper over 10pound which was his benchmark. Jeremy got a few around 3kg on 3kg line so he was happy to.

Hi Smithy. That IFISH episode should do your business some good! You have my dream job! How hard is it to setup? I have a boat being built now (not to survey) that I am awaiting delivery. Ive been fishing offshore all my life, and I am wondering if I could make a go if it? Have the increases in fuel prices been cutting into your margin significantly? If you dont mind me asking, what do you generally charge for a fish offshore? Anyway, all the best....Steve.

Steve,

I got to talk to John Gooding a fair few times over at Fraser Island for the fishing Expo. I would like to get like him. Fully booked then just cancelling trips based on the weather. As you know, you don't see him advertised anywhere, no website, just his column in QFM. His business is all word of mouth and repeat business. I would like to get like that too. As anyone in business knows, advertising and the right amount in the right places is such a gamble. At the moment I would like more bookings (mid-week especially) and more people on my waiting list. In extended good weather, once my group bookings run out, when I do a ring around to make up a mixed charter, I only seem to raise one crew at a time because they are often short notice mid week and not everyone can flex off.

Sending PM on the nitty gritty but have been following Breamnut's thread in boating chat with great interest. Everyone is spot on the money in it.

Rob,
Darryl was pretty stoked to finnally get a decent snapper. Photos didn't take long to come through on the email. Saw the IFish episode on Sunday, excellent veiwing. Only next time when they put the camera on you, you gotta smile a bit.;D
Steve,
Yes that was Lundy from Mackay. He is a member on the site so he will probaly post when he sees it.

Smithy keep up the good work and the photos.

Jeff.

Nice work once again smithy. It wont take long before the word really gets out mate and you'll need a secretary, bigger boat then another boat. ;)

We're hoping to come out again in the not too distant future.

Spewin i missed IFISH, i was over at straddie. Is there anyway those of us who missed it can get our hands on the footage from your section?
