Those V-sea's are best mated with a 70hp light weight carby 2st...... Traditionally they have always came out off the Seafarer factory with an Evinrude, so if I would go for a new E-tec to keep close to original spec. But a Merc Optimax will work very well on it also.... But to obtain the best from these top little boats, select the lightest motor... That pretty much cans any 4st unfortunately

Matey I had a v-sea with a 70hp yama 2str and she use to get up and go alright. Polky.

had a look at a second hand Vsea with a 90 Johnson 4 cylinder and the back off it was almost under water! agree with the others here, definately go for a light motor, 70hp seems to be the favoured hp on most Vsea's out there.

best Motor for one these days I reckon would be a Yamaha 90HP 2 stroke, pretty common in 25", light as buggery, easy to work on, very simple and reliable, not too much else to say really, that just about covers everything you want a Motor to be.

Yep, a 3 cylinder 70 or 90 is the go. Given the 70 and 90 Yam will be the same weight or extremely close to it the 90 would be the go. Although they are well powered with a 70.

Cheers

Yamaha make a Precision Blend 70hp carby model (800cc)... It is the lightest off any off 70hp range @ 105kg...... Thats the one I would be buying...

Tohatsu also make a carby 2st and it comes in at 115kg.. It has 100cc more displacment (900cc) and is the same price... Both are retailed at $8400... Dealer price may difffer, depending how much they want the sale....

Here you go... Have a look at these. There from the F&B magizine.... Just about every detail is covered ranging from engine weight, CC's, emissions and price.... It should help you a lot.....

Hmm, sounds like weights a killer. I'll do some research.
Cheers.

I decided on a 60 Yamaha high thrust 4 stroke. It's in the shop getting fitted up, can't wait to get on the water to see how it performs.
Cheers
