Hi Guys, My B'inlaw has been offered a ('95) 4.2 Quintrex Dory Boat with a ('02) low hour 30hp tiller Yamaha CV outboard, on an ('02) gal trailer. The boat(unpainted) is in resonable condition, and has no major extras, or saftey gear. My 2 questions are what would this rig be worth? (private sale), and does the make and model of boat and motor come with a good reputation.
Hoping you can help us, Thankyou!
Cheers Rod.
By the way, the outfit was offered to him for $3,750.

My first rig was a 4.2m Dory backed by a 30 CV Yammie :)

A great tinnie for exploring the easturies around the "Pin" ;D

Sounds like a pretty reasonable price and with few accesories he can choose what he wants for sounders, gps etc...the list of add ons he can buy will be the killer but we love our toys;D

Hey Ttone
Mate there is nothing wrong with the 4.2 Dory's I have one at the moment I don't know what i would do without it I am in the process of do a fit out in it you can make those little tinnies quite roomy & I am about to put a EFI Honda 40 4-stroke on the boat & that is not a bad price but see if you can get it down more

Sounds like a real good price mate. To do a comparison, go to boatpoint or trading post websites and search out that model/motor etc and see how much they are asking.

Ttone,

Worth about $7500 new with a 30hp. Good basic tinnie that'll get you outside on good days. You'll never have any trouble selling it in a few years when you inevitably decide to upgrade and you'll probably sell it for not much less than you paid for it.

Does it say 4.2 on the sticker? Must be a new sticker as they used to be 4.1m back in '95.

Mick.

Hi Mate,

With Quintrex and Yamaha you can't go wrong, as long as it's been looked after.

That seems quite a fair price, I paid $10250 for a new Allycraft Rhino 4.10m and 25 Yamaha 4 stroke in June 2007.

Cheers
Scott
