I have owned a cruise craftt 685 with twin Honda 90's since 2001. We tow the boat with a F250. We mainly game fish- trolling lures 40 to 60km offshore. We fish ports other than home(Pittwater), including Bermagui, Narooma, Jarvis Bay, Pt Stephens, Forster & have even towed to Whitsundays. We are currently looking at trading up & are considering Striper 2601 with twin Yamaha 200 4 Stroke. We prefer a fibreglass boat as you don't get bashed about as much as a tinnie. We would only consider twin motor set ups. We like positive bouyancy & trailability. Having a plumbed toilet on board is a consideration. Any thoughts on the Striper 2601 & what fuel expectations for twin 200's. Any other suggestions around $150?

G'day

No ideas from me just yet, but to help narrow it down

Do you have any bias for a mono or a cat or a tri or are you open to suggestions from either?

Would consider cat, but never had much off shore experience in that size- I've been out in 30 ft cats, but if we were to look into a cat it would probably be around the Kevlacat 24ft size.

Phil

have a look at this site for good info,, seastriper.com - owners site more then a few 2601 owners. It isn't a mutual admiration society either.

Phil, I have a Striper 2300 with a single 225hp Suzuki and am getting around 1.3-1.4 km/l at cruise which is around 50km/h. I reckon a single 300 or a pair of big block 175's 4cyls would be quite an economical option on the 2601. As stated above, have a look at seastriper.com, there is a wealth of knowledge on that site and no doubt you will find all the information you require there.

phil..I have the baby of the range..the 1851WA...bought it last December..more than happy with the boat. I don't think you can go too far wrong with the Stripers.

Why do you need outboards on that size boat. Why not inboards with legs so you can still trailer it around.

Phil, I will pm you but have a look at www.commodoremarine.com (http://www.commodoremarine.com) and the Abrolhos 8000. A custom boat builder that will configure how you want.

Hey,

Another vote here for the Seaswirl's.

I've owned two 2301's (one with single, one with twins), and can't say enough good things about them. Best bang for buck in that style of boat IMHO.
