Combo for Fishing the Spit

Hi I want to fish for taylor down the spit this week at night. I havent got a specific rod or reel for this type of fishing, and not sure what is suited. Would a Raider Snapper Rod and Daiwa Teirra or advantage 4000 size reel suit? or do I really need to go out and get something more precise for fishing at the spit for taylor.

I have only fished the spit a few times myself but i found the most popular was a surf rod around 12ft and it has to have i bit of lifting power something you could lift a large tailor up onto the spit with 4000 - 6000 reel should be fine spooled with 20 -30lb line just remember you may get a jewie there and unless you have a cliff gaff it it hard to land them you would have to walk it to the the start of the spit and beach it
