Hi All

I'm planing a week long trip chashing freshwater Barra at either Monduran or Arawonga in the first week of October.
At that time of the year are both Dams a good option or does one fish better that the other.
Also which dam has camping grounds and amenities situated on the lake foreshore for ease of access, rather than having to travel to fish each day.
Any other information would be usefull.

Give that a go for Mondy, all the info and bookin prices and a contact email and ph.

as for the question they both offer different thing for the barra angler and both hold big fish but we could harp on which ones better but at the end of the day as long as you can pull a barra it doesn't matter.

six to one half a dozen the other mate.

Neither afford camping on the lake unfortunately. :( Both are good for camping I prefer Monduran as there is a lot more room to spread out. The covered open air camp kitchen is great with toaster, kettles, micro wave BBQ plates, siks etc. even a fridge if you want to share your stuff with who ever opens it :-/. Both Dams require you to hook up the trailer and launch and retrieve each trip but the ramps are not far from camp.

If you are coming from the south why go past Monduran?
From the North Awoonga.

Awoonga is essentially an inland sea with some off shoots. Monduran is a maze of big water ways. You want a GPS at Monduran if you plan to go up the back of the dam , especially if you want to find your way home at night. :o

Do As Nath Says And Look Them Up On The Web Its All There. Weve Both Camped And Stayed In A House.we Found The House Neat And Tidy And Reasonably Priced When Shared Between A Few People.we Had Shocking Weather For That Trip So Were Thankful 4 The Creature Comforts.havent Tried The Cabins Yet But They Look Good 2 And There In A Great Spot Over Looking The Dam.good Luck .cheers

Do them both .... They are not far appart 8-)
Both offer totally different habitats ..... & require different fishing methods!
Facilities are better at Mondy but fish ability is better at Awoonga IMO

At Awoonga ..... the cliche tactics come more into play 8-)
